Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and dismantle audio-visual equipment, including projectors, screens, microphones, speakers, video cameras, and lighting systems for various events and installations.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on AV equipment to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct pre-event checks and calibration of all AV systems to guarantee high-quality output.
  • Provide on-site technical support during events, addressing any AV issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with clients, event organizers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored AV solutions.
  • Manage inventory of AV equipment, ensuring proper storage, security, and cleanliness.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and operational procedures.
  • Assist with the installation and integration of new AV technologies and systems.
  • Train clients or end-users on basic operation of AV equipment when necessary.
  • Transport, load, and unload equipment safely and efficiently.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting professional audio and visual equipment.
  • Strong understanding of signal flow for audio, video, and control systems.
  • Proficiency with various AV technologies, including projectors, LED displays, sound mixers, microphones, video switchers, and presentation software.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to technical issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused attitude.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 25kg) and work in various conditions.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CTS, AVIXA).
  • Experience with advanced video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams).
  • Knowledge of lighting design principles and control systems.
  • Familiarity with network-based AV systems (e.g., Dante, NDI).
  • Experience in live event production or corporate AV environments.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
