Career.zycto is on the lookout for a committed and energetic Delivery Assistant to join our night shift team in Solihull. This critical role involves supporting our delivery drivers and ensuring that goods are loaded, transported, and unloaded efficiently and safely during the crucial night hours. Key Responsibilities
- Assist drivers with loading and unloading vehicles efficiently and safely, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
- Verify the accuracy of cargo against delivery manifests and note any discrepancies.
- Safely secure goods within the vehicle to prevent damage during transit.
- Provide navigation assistance and support to drivers on established routes.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatch, and warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with basic vehicle checks and maintenance as required.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to vehicle operation and delivery schedules.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment within the vehicle and at delivery points.
- Represent Career.zycto professionally at all times during deliveries.
Required Skills
- Ability to work night hours (typically 9 PM – 6 AM).
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy packages (up to 25 kg) repetitively.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods.
- Understanding of basic health and safety practices.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing routes and schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery, warehouse, or logistics role.
- Knowledge of local Solihull and Birmingham road networks.
