Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and skilled Broadcast Technician to join our dynamic team in Doncaster, Melbourne. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide array of broadcast technology, including audio and video equipment, RF systems, IP-based broadcasting infrastructure, and associated control systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and repair of broadcast audio, video, and RF equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Install and configure new broadcast systems and software, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Monitor broadcast transmissions for quality, compliance, and signal integrity.
  • Provide technical support to production teams and operational staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, maintenance logs, and repair histories.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of system upgrades and technology migrations.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and industry standards.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in broadcast audio and video signal paths, formats, and standards.
  • Strong understanding of RF transmission principles and equipment.
  • Experience with IP-based broadcast workflows and networking fundamentals.
  • Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for complex technical issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and manuals.
  • Familiarity with test and measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., SMPTE, SBE, EBU).
  • Experience with specific broadcast automation, ingest, or playout systems (e.g., Grass Valley, Avid, Evertz).
  • Knowledge of virtualized broadcast environments and cloud-based solutions.
  • Prior experience in a live broadcast or production environment.
