Job Description
Alteo Ltd. is on the lookout for a highly organised, detail-oriented, and personable HR Assistant to bolster our Human Resources department located in Bel Air Rivière Sèche, Flacq District. This pivotal role is fundamental to the day-to-day operations of our HR functions, with a particular emphasis on providing exceptional staff support and ensuring the accurate and timely administration of payroll. As an HR Assistant, you will serve as a crucial point of contact for employees, guiding them through various HR processes, addressing their queries with professionalism and empathy, and maintaining comprehensive employee records. Your expertise will be vital in assisting with the preparation and processing of monthly payroll, ensuring strict adherence to company policies and local labour regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and on time, including data entry, verification, and generating reports, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
 - Act as the first point of contact for employee HR-related queries, providing accurate information and escalating complex issues to the appropriate HR personnel.
 - Maintain up-to-date and confidential employee records, both physical and digital, ensuring data integrity and compliance with GDPR and local data protection laws.
 - Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing induction packs, coordinating orientations, and processing necessary documentation.
 - Support HR Business Partners with various administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and drafting HR correspondence.
 - Manage HR department filing systems, ensuring all documents are correctly categorized and easily retrievable.
 - Assist in the coordination of employee benefits administration, including enrolment, changes, and answering general queries.
 - Participate in HR projects and initiatives, contributing to the continuous improvement of HR processes and employee engagement programs.
 - Generate HR reports as required, including headcount, turnover, and payroll summaries.
 - Ensure strict adherence to confidentiality protocols for all sensitive employee and company information.
 
Required Skills
- Proven experience in an HR administrative or assistant role, with a focus on payroll processing and staff support.
 - Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and payroll software.
 - Excellent administrative and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
 - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.
 - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
 - Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
 - Knowledge of Mauritian labour laws and employment regulations.
 - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
 - Experience with SAP HR module or similar enterprise-level HR software.
 - Prior experience in the agro-industry or manufacturing sector.
 - Fluency in both English and French (Creole also beneficial).
