Your responsibilities will span direct patient interaction, preparing treatment areas, managing equipment, and performing administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed physiotherapists in implementing prescribed treatment plans for patients.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and stretches as instructed by the physiotherapist.
  • Prepare treatment areas, ensuring equipment is clean, sanitized, and ready for use.
  • Monitor patients during therapy sessions, reporting any changes or concerns to the physiotherapist.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records, documenting progress and observations.
  • Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and use of adaptive equipment.
  • Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and injury prevention techniques.
  • Manage and organize physiotherapy equipment and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient files, and answering calls.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols and clinical guidelines.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive environment for patients and colleagues.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Physiotherapist Assistant or in a similar healthcare support role.
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology, particularly as it relates to rehabilitation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications for record-keeping and scheduling.
  • Physical stamina and ability to assist patients with varying levels of mobility.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (current).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Physiotherapy Assisting or a related field.
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations (e.g., geriatric, pediatric, sports injuries).
  • Knowledge of various therapeutic modalities and equipment.
  • Fluency in additional local languages.
