Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physiotherapists in implementing prescribed treatment plans for patients.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and stretches as instructed by the physiotherapist.
- Prepare treatment areas, ensuring equipment is clean, sanitized, and ready for use.
- Monitor patients during therapy sessions, reporting any changes or concerns to the physiotherapist.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records, documenting progress and observations.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and use of adaptive equipment.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and injury prevention techniques.
- Manage and organize physiotherapy equipment and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient files, and answering calls.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols and clinical guidelines.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive environment for patients and colleagues.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Physiotherapist Assistant or in a similar healthcare support role.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology, particularly as it relates to rehabilitation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for record-keeping and scheduling.
- Physical stamina and ability to assist patients with varying levels of mobility.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- First Aid and CPR certification (current).
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Physiotherapy Assisting or a related field.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations (e.g., geriatric, pediatric, sports injuries).
- Knowledge of various therapeutic modalities and equipment.
- Fluency in additional local languages.
