Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming deliveries, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders and identifying any discrepancies or damages.
- Efficiently store and organize stock in designated locations within the stockroom, adhering to established layout and safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized stockroom environment at all times, including regular sweeping, tidying, and waste disposal.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile with system records, reporting any variances to the supervisor.
- Prepare outgoing orders for dispatch, including picking, packing, and labeling items accurately.
- Operate basic material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks) safely and effectively, if required and trained.
- Assist in loading and unloading vehicles, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate low stock or potential shortages to relevant departments.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure efficient stock movement and operational flow.
Required Skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying packages (up to 25kg)
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for inventory tracking and record-keeping
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a stockroom, warehouse, or retail environment (6 months to 1 year)
- Familiarity with inventory management principles or basic stock control software
- WASSCE/SSCE or equivalent qualification
- Basic computer proficiency
