Career.zycto is seeking a dynamic freelance Event Planner to join our network of top-tier professionals. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual based in or near Old Harbour Bay, Old Harbour, to collaborate on a diverse portfolio of events, ranging from intimate wedding ceremonies and grand receptions to professional corporate gatherings, product launches, and gala dinners. As a freelance Event Planner, you will be the driving force behind each event’s success, from initial concept development to flawless execution. We are looking for someone who can seamlessly manage multiple projects, possess an exceptional eye for detail, and demonstrate a profound understanding of client needs and local vendor relationships within Jamaica. Your expertise will ensure every event is not just successful, but truly spectacular, reflecting the unique brand or personal style of our clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, plan, and execute a diverse range of wedding and corporate events, adhering to client briefs, timelines, and budgets.
  • Develop detailed event proposals, including theme, decor, catering, entertainment, and logistical plans.
  • Manage all aspects of vendor relationships, including sourcing, negotiation, contract review, and coordination for venues, caterers, florists, photographers, entertainers, and technical support.
  • Create and manage comprehensive event timelines, production schedules, and budget tracking documents.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring their vision is translated into reality.
  • Oversee on-site event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring smooth operations and swift resolution of any issues.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations, gather feedback, and analyze results to identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, local regulations, and best practices in event management.
  • Collaborate with marketing and design teams (if applicable for specific projects) to ensure brand consistency and promotional effectiveness.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in event planning and management, specifically with weddings and corporate events.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills, capable of handling multiple events simultaneously.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.

  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial oversight for events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Event Management (e.g., Certified Meeting Professional – CMP).
  • Extensive network of local vendors and venues in the Old Harbour Bay and wider St. Catherine area.
  • Experience with diverse cultural events and international clients.
  • Portfolio showcasing successful past wedding and corporate events.
