Key Responsibilities
- Monitor multiple CCTV cameras and surveillance systems to detect and deter unauthorized activities, theft, vandalism, and other security incidents.
- Proactively identify suspicious individuals or activities and report findings promptly to security management and relevant personnel.
- Document and maintain accurate records of all surveillance activities, incidents, and observations in detailed reports.
- Operate and troubleshoot surveillance equipment, ensuring all systems are functioning optimally.
- Respond to alarms and emergency situations by dispatching appropriate personnel and providing real-time information.
- Collaborate effectively with on-site security teams, law enforcement, and other stakeholders during investigations or emergencies.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and legal regulations pertaining to privacy and data protection.
- Conduct regular equipment checks and report any malfunctions or required maintenance.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance security knowledge and skills.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to obtain a valid Security Guard License in Alberta upon hire (support provided).
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a security-related role, even informal.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of basic security protocols and emergency response procedures.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems or other surveillance technologies.
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Criminology, Law Enforcement).
