Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in all training modules, both theoretical and practical, to acquire the necessary security guard license.
- Learn and effectively implement company policies and procedures related to security operations and incident response.
- Shadow experienced Security Guards to observe and understand patrol routes, surveillance techniques, and access control procedures.
- Assist in monitoring CCTV systems and alarm panels, reporting any suspicious activities or breaches immediately.
- Practice responding to routine inquiries and provide directions or assistance to clients and the public in a professional manner.
- Develop skills in writing accurate and detailed incident reports, daily logs, and other administrative documentation.
- Learn to identify potential security risks and hazards, and contribute to maintaining a safe environment.
- Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures, including fire safety, first aid, and evacuation protocols.
- Maintain a professional demeanor, neat appearance, and high level of vigilance at all times.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards applicable to security professionals in Alberta.
Required Skills
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities in English.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful situations.
- Basic computer literacy for report writing and monitoring systems.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Must be eligible to obtain an Alberta Security Guard License (we will assist with the process).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service or public-facing role.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License with a clean driving abstract.
- Current First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
- A genuine interest in public safety and security.
