Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and waste removal in common areas and designated spaces.
- Conduct routine inspections of building premises to identify and report maintenance needs, safety hazards, or potential issues.
- Assist with minor repairs such as changing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, painting touch-ups, and basic carpentry tasks.
- Support senior maintenance staff and tradespeople with more complex repairs and projects, including carrying tools and materials.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and maintenance materials, reporting needs for replenishment.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Respond to tenant or staff requests for building support in a timely and professional manner.
- Participate in emergency response procedures and maintain emergency equipment readiness.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently or as part of a team
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and willingness to learn more
- Good physical condition, capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and performing manual tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and clean driving record (preferred, but not essential for all roles)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role or a customer service environment
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and their safe operation
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions if outdoor tasks are required
