Your daily activities will involve monitoring security alerts from various sources, analyzing logs, and triaging potential security events to distinguish between false positives and genuine threats. You will learn to utilize Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools, endpoint detection and response (EDR) platforms, and other security solutions to gain insights into our security posture. Beyond reactive measures, you’ll also be involved in proactive tasks such as researching emerging threats and vulnerabilities, contributing to security awareness training materials, and assisting in the implementation of security patches and updates. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for security alerts and anomalies.
- Conduct initial analysis and triage of security incidents, distinguishing between false positives and actual threats.
- Assist in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of security tools and technologies.
- Perform vulnerability scans and assist with vulnerability management processes.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures.
- Participate in security audits and compliance reviews.
- Research emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
- Generate security reports and metrics for management review.
