As a Solar Technician, you will be a vital part of our installation and maintenance crews, responsible for the safe and efficient assembly, installation, and commissioning of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. Your daily tasks will range from ground-mount and rooftop installations to electrical wiring, system testing, and troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install solar PV systems on rooftops and ground mounts according to design specifications and safety standards.
  • Perform electrical wiring, conduit bending, and connection of solar panels, inverters, and other system components.
  • Conduct system testing, commissioning, and routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system issues, performing necessary repairs and replacements.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and best practices, including working at heights and using personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and system layouts accurately.
  • Provide clear communication and professional interaction with team members, clients, and project managers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in solar PV installation or related electrical/construction field.
  • Proficiency in basic electrical work, including wiring, conduit, and panel connections.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and procedures, particularly regarding working at heights and electrical safety.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification in solar PV installation (e.g., NABCEP PV Associate, Construction Electrician Red Seal).
  • Experience with various inverter technologies (string, micro-inverters) and battery storage systems.
  • Working at Heights certification.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience operating boom lifts or scissor lifts.
