Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking experienced and reliable Forklift Drivers to join a dynamic warehouse team in Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester, with an immediate start available. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled operator to become an integral part of a fast-paced and essential logistics operation. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods, materials, and products within our state-of-the-art warehouse facility.

As a Forklift Driver, your role is crucial to maintaining the smooth flow of inventory, ensuring that everything from incoming deliveries to outgoing shipments is handled with precision and care. You will operate various types of forklifts, primarily counterbalance and reach trucks, within a busy environment. We are looking for individuals who possess a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols, and a proactive approach to their work. This role demands a high level of personal responsibility and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a larger team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate counterbalance and reach forklift trucks to move, stack, and retrieve goods within the warehouse.
  • Load and unload lorries and other delivery vehicles, ensuring accuracy and proper handling of all materials.
  • Perform daily pre-shift checks on forklift equipment and report any defects or maintenance requirements immediately.
  • Adhere strictly to all company health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Accurately complete paperwork and update inventory management systems as required.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties, including picking, packing, and maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
  • Work collaboratively with warehouse staff and management to achieve daily operational goals.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency and safety.
  • Handle goods with care to prevent damage and minimise waste.

Required Skills

  • Valid and current Forklift Licence (Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating forklifts in a busy warehouse environment.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects when required.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with other MHE (e.g., PPT, VNA).
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • First Aid certification.
