Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, priming, and repairing cracks and holes.
- Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
- Match paint colours and textures accurately to client specifications or existing finishes.
- Protect adjacent surfaces and furniture with drop cloths and masking tape.
- Clean up work areas and equipment thoroughly after each job.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with clients and project managers regarding progress and potential issues.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality and address any imperfections.
- Manage and maintain painting supplies and equipment.
- Work efficiently to meet project deadlines without compromising quality.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Interior Painter.
- Excellent knowledge of painting materials, tools, and techniques.
- Proficiency in surface preparation, including sanding, patching, and priming.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality finishes.
- Ability to accurately mix and match paint colours.
- Physical stamina and dexterity for prolonged standing, bending, and lifting.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid UK driving license and access to reliable transport.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Painting and Decorating.
- Experience with various decorative finishes and techniques.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations specific to the construction industry.
