Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the editing and proofreading of news articles, features, and other content for factual accuracy, grammatical correctness, style, and tone.
- Ensure all content aligns with Career.zycto's editorial guidelines, ethical standards, and brand voice.
- Manage content workflow, including scheduling, assignment, and timely delivery of news pieces.
- Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to junior writers and journalists to enhance their storytelling and reporting skills.
- Stay abreast of current events, industry trends, and journalistic best practices to inform editorial decisions.
- Collaborate with the content strategy team to identify trending topics and optimize content for search engines (SEO).
- Verify sources and information, conducting research where necessary to uphold journalistic integrity.
- Participate in editorial meetings, contributing ideas for new content and strategic direction.
- Adapt content for various platforms, including web, social media, and newsletters, ensuring audience-specific engagement.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new editorial policies and procedures.
- Handle sensitive topics with discretion and ensure balanced reporting.
- Monitor content performance metrics and provide insights for continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in news editing, preferably within a digital media environment.
