Career.zycto is on the lookout for an exceptionally talented and visionary Cinematographer to join our vibrant creative team in Hamilton, Brisbane. As our Cinematographer, you will be the visual architect of our projects, working closely with directors, producers, and the broader creative team from concept development through to final delivery.

You will be instrumental in defining the visual style of diverse projects, ranging from high-impact marketing campaigns and corporate films to short-form documentaries and engaging digital content. Your day-to-day will involve hands-on operation of state-of-the-art camera equipment, meticulous lighting design, and creative shot planning. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with directors and producers to conceptualize and execute the visual style of projects.
  • Operate and maintain a wide range of camera equipment, lenses, and accessories.
  • Design and implement creative lighting setups to achieve desired moods and aesthetics.
  • Lead and manage camera and lighting crews on set, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
  • Oversee all visual aspects of production, from pre-production planning to on-set execution.
  • Conduct location scouting to assess technical feasibility and creative potential.
  • Ensure consistent image quality, colour, and exposure across all footage.
  • Stay informed on the latest cinematography trends, equipment, and software.
  • Participate in post-production discussions to ensure the final product aligns with the visual vision.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Cinematographer or Director of Photography.
  • Expertise in operating professional cinema cameras (e.g., ARRI, RED, Sony Cinema Line).
  • Deep understanding of lighting principles, techniques, and equipment.
  • Proficiency with various grip and electric tools and setups.
  • Strong knowledge of composition, colour theory, and visual storytelling.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative teamwork skills.
  • Portfolio demonstrating a diverse range of high-quality cinematographic work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Film Production, Cinematography, or a related field.
  • Experience with motion control, drone cinematography, or virtual production techniques.
  • Familiarity with colour grading workflows and software (e.g., DaVinci Resolve).
  • Knowledge of local Brisbane production resources and talent.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior crew members.
