Job Description

We are actively seeking a talented and driven CI/CD Engineer to join a pivotal team in Leeds, working with one of our innovative client partners. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual passionate about automation, continuous improvement, and building robust, scalable software delivery pipelines. As a CI/CD Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and tools that enable rapid and reliable software releases. You’ll work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline workflows, enhance developer experience, and ensure the seamless integration and deployment of critical applications. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or CircleCI.
  • Automate build, test, and deployment processes across multiple environments.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated testing and quality gates into the CI/CD process.
  • Manage and maintain version control systems (e.g., Git) and branching strategies.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline failures, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing CI/CD processes and tools.
  • Ensure security best practices are integrated into the pipeline at every stage.
  • Document CI/CD workflows, configurations, and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, CircleCI).
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Proficiency with version control systems, especially Git.
  • Experience with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with microservices architectures.
  • Certification in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert).
  • Knowledge of network security and compliance.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
