Career.zycto is seeking a meticulous and proactive QA Analyst to join our expanding technology team in Tynemouth, Newcastle upon Tyne. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases for web and mobile applications.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking systems, ensuring clear communication with development teams.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and designers throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
- Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and new features meet design specifications.
- Advocate for quality at every stage of the development process.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of automation test scripts (where applicable).
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a QA Analyst or similar role in a technology-focused environment.
- Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience with various testing types (functional, regression, integration, UAT).
- Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Bugzilla).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress).
- Familiarity with API testing (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).
- Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation.
- Understanding of performance and security testing principles.
- ISTQB certification or equivalent.
