Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and proactive Security Guard to join our team in Vieux Quatre Bornes, Quatre Bornes. This vital role is central to maintaining a secure and safe environment for our staff, visitors, and assets. As a Security Guard, you will be the frontline of our protective services, responsible for monitoring premises, preventing unauthorized access, responding to incidents, and ensuring adherence to security protocols. Your day will involve a combination of active patrols, operating surveillance equipment, managing access points, and providing a reassuring presence. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, both internal and external, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, fire, and vandalism.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems, responding promptly to any alerts or suspicious activities.
- Control access points, verifying identification of individuals and vehicles entering and exiting the premises.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by all personnel and visitors.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, alarms, and disturbances, coordinating with emergency services as required.
- Prepare detailed incident reports, documenting observations, activities, and occurrences accurately and thoroughly.
- Provide assistance and direction to staff and visitors while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Perform routine checks on safety equipment and report any malfunctions or hazards.
- Liaise with management and other security personnel to ensure seamless communication and coordinated security efforts.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Security Guard or in a similar protective services role.
- Valid Security Guard license/permit in Mauritius.
- Excellent observational and communication skills.
- Ability to operate surveillance equipment and basic security systems.
- Strong sense of responsibility and professionalism.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Proficiency in both English and French (Creole an advantage).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in corporate or commercial security environments.
- Knowledge of local security regulations and protocols.
- Relevant certifications in security management or conflict resolution.
- Experience with advanced access control systems.
- Valid driving license (Category B).
