Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical plant equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, conveyor systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Diagnose mechanical malfunctions, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective repair solutions to minimize downtime.
- Oversee and execute corrective maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Develop and optimize maintenance schedules and procedures to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs for troubleshooting and repair tasks.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work order management, asset tracking, and inventory control.
- Collaborate with production, electrical, and process engineering teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Participate in the commissioning of new equipment and plant upgrades.
- Mentor junior technicians and contribute to the development of maintenance best practices.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical engineering within a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or plant operations environment
- Proven expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of industrial mechanical equipment
- Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and rotating machinery systems
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
