Job Description
We are actively seeking dedicated and vigilant Correctional Officers to join our vital team in Chokwe, Gaza Province. This critical role involves maintaining safety, security, and order within a dynamic correctional facility, ensuring the well-being of both inmates and staff. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor inmate activities to prevent disturbances, escapes, and rule infractions, maintaining constant vigilance.
- Conduct regular, thorough inspections of facilities, cells, and inmate belongings for contraband, security breaches, and safety hazards.
- Enforce institutional rules and regulations consistently, fairly, and firmly, ensuring adherence to established policies.
- Respond effectively and decisively to emergencies, conflicts, and critical incidents, demonstrating sound judgment and leadership.
- Facilitate and oversee inmate movements within the facility and during transfers, ensuring security protocols are meticulously followed.
- Write detailed, accurate, and timely reports on inmate behavior, incidents, daily activities, and observations.
- Perform searches of inmates, visitors, and correctional facility areas with professionalism and strict adherence to protocol.
- Provide basic counseling and guidance to inmates, directing them to appropriate resources for support and rehabilitation.
- Ensure the safety and security of all personnel, inmates, and visitors by actively identifying and mitigating risks.
- Participate actively in mandatory training programs and drills to enhance professional skills, readiness, and compliance.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Minimum 1 year of proven experience in a security-related role, law enforcement, or military service.
- Exceptional observation, active listening, and clear communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and maintain composure in high-stress, dynamic environments.
- Unwavering strong moral character, integrity, and ethical conduct.
- Documented physical fitness and ability to successfully pass a comprehensive physical assessment.
- Basic computer literacy for efficient report writing, data entry, and administrative tasks.
- Possession of a valid driver's license (or ability to obtain one rapidly).
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education (diploma or degree) in Criminology, Law Enforcement, Social Work, or a closely related field.
- Previous experience working directly in a correctional or detention setting.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Proficiency in additional local languages prevalent in Gaza Province (e.g., Changana) in addition to Portuguese.
- Certifications in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
