Career.zycto is actively seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Coordinator to join our team in Macia, Gaza Province. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety programs and procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Perform detailed risk assessments and recommend control measures to mitigate identified risks.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Organize and deliver engaging safety training sessions for all employees on various topics including emergency preparedness, proper equipment use, and hazard communication.
- Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international safety laws and regulations applicable to our industry.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Act as a primary point of contact for all safety-related inquiries and provide guidance to management and staff.
- Promote a strong safety culture through awareness campaigns and continuous communication.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices (e.g., OSHA, local Mozambique standards).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or local equivalent).
- Experience in the construction, manufacturing, or engineering sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English.
