Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Coordinator to join our team in Macia, Gaza Province. This is an immediate start position for a dedicated professional eager to implement and uphold the highest safety standards across our operations. As a Safety Coordinator, you will be the cornerstone of our commitment to zero incidents, working diligently to create a workplace where every individual feels secure and valued.

This pivotal role demands a hands-on approach to identifying potential hazards, developing preventative strategies, and ensuring strict adherence to both national and international safety regulations. You will be instrumental in conducting regular site inspections, performing comprehensive risk assessments, and designing and delivering engaging safety training programs for all employees. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety programs and procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Perform detailed risk assessments and recommend control measures to mitigate identified risks.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Organize and deliver engaging safety training sessions for all employees on various topics including emergency preparedness, proper equipment use, and hazard communication.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international safety laws and regulations applicable to our industry.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for all safety-related inquiries and provide guidance to management and staff.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through awareness campaigns and continuous communication.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices (e.g., OSHA, local Mozambique standards).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or local equivalent).
  • Experience in the construction, manufacturing, or engineering sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English.
