Job Description

We are actively seeking a talented and driven Analytics Engineer to join our growing team in Aztec West, Bristol. This is a critical role for an individual passionate about transforming raw data into actionable insights and robust data products. As an Analytics Engineer at Career.zycto, you will bridge the gap between data science, business intelligence, and data engineering. You’ll be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining our data models, pipelines, and reporting infrastructure to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and reliability across the organization. You’ll work closely with data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to understand their data needs, translate them into technical requirements, and deliver scalable solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data models and ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL and Python to support reporting and analytical needs.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and product teams to understand data requirements and translate them into robust data solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across all data assets, implementing monitoring and validation processes.
  • Build and optimize data warehouses and data marts, utilizing cloud-based platforms and modern data stack technologies.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data infrastructure, tools, and best practices.
  • Perform root cause analysis on data issues and implement corrective actions.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and pipeline development.
  • Experience with Python for data scripting, automation, and ETL processes.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling (dimensional modeling, Kimball/Inmon methodologies), and database design.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake, Azure Synapse Analytics).
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) for dashboard creation and data visualization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD practices for data pipelines.
  • Knowledge of dbt (data build tool) for data transformation and modeling.
  • Understanding of agile development methodologies.
