Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Adventure Guide to lead unforgettable expeditions and create lasting memories for our clients in the beautiful Fomento, Matola region. As an Adventure Guide, you will be the cornerstone of our client’s outdoor experiences. Your days will be filled with guiding groups through scenic trails, exhilarating water activities, and cultural immersion programs. You will be responsible for planning routes, managing equipment, conducting safety briefings, and providing engaging commentary that enriches the journey. We are looking for someone who can effortlessly blend professionalism with an infectious enthusiasm, creating a welcoming and exciting atmosphere for every participant, from novice explorers to seasoned adventurers.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage adventure tours and expeditions, ensuring client safety and enjoyment at all times.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip briefings on safety procedures, equipment usage, and itinerary details.
- Navigate diverse terrains and environments, utilizing strong wilderness navigation skills.
- Provide engaging commentary on local flora, fauna, geology, and cultural heritage.
- Administer basic first aid and emergency response when necessary, adhering to established protocols.
- Maintain all adventure equipment in excellent working condition, performing routine checks and minor repairs.
- Adapt tour plans and routes in response to weather conditions, participant abilities, or unforeseen circumstances.
- Foster a positive and inclusive group dynamic, encouraging participation and teamwork.
- Manage logistical aspects of tours, including transportation, accommodation, and meal planning where applicable.
- Promote responsible tourism practices and environmental stewardship among participants.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Adventure Guide or in a similar outdoor leadership role.
- Advanced Wilderness First Aid (WFA) or Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification.
- Excellent knowledge of local geography, ecology, and cultural nuances of Matola and surrounding areas.
- Strong navigation skills (map, compass, GPS) and route planning expertise.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate diverse groups.
- Proficiency in at least two outdoor adventure activities (e.g., hiking, kayaking, climbing, cycling).
- Ability to problem-solve quickly and effectively in challenging environments.
- Physical fitness and stamina to lead demanding multi-day expeditions.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Outdoor Recreation, Environmental Science, Tourism, or a related field.
- Certifications in specific adventure activities (e.g., PADI Divemaster, Mountain Guide Certification).
- Experience with environmental education and interpretation programs.
- Additional language proficiency (e.g., Changana, Xitsonga).
- Previous experience working in the tourism sector of Mozambique.
