Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting regular fire safety inspections of premises, equipment, and systems.
- Support the maintenance and testing of fire suppression systems, alarms, and other safety equipment.
- Participate in fire drills and emergency response exercises, providing support and observation.
- Help in identifying potential fire hazards and reporting them to senior safety officers.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and equipment maintenance logs.
- Distribute and post fire safety notices and educational materials to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in the training of personnel on basic fire safety procedures and evacuation plans.
- Respond promptly to fire alarms and emergency situations, following established protocols.
- Ensure compliance with local fire safety regulations and company-specific policies and procedures.
- Liaise with external emergency services during incidents or drills as directed by supervisors.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Strong observational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and meticulously.
- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks such as walking, standing for extended periods, and lifting light equipment.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and ethical conduct in all duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior volunteer experience in safety-related roles (e.g., first aid, community safety programs).
- Certification in First Aid and/or CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).
- Basic knowledge of fire safety principles, emergency procedures, or hazard identification.
- Valid driving license (Kenyan) with a clean driving record.
