Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive digital marketing strategies tailored for the Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal market, focusing on local SPAR stores.
  • Manage and grow social media presence (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) for local stores, including content creation, scheduling, and community engagement.
  • Execute local Search Engine Optimization (SEO) efforts, including Google My Business optimisation, local keyword research, and monitoring local search rankings.
  • Create engaging and relevant content for various digital platforms, including social media posts, blog articles, email newsletters, and website updates.
  • Plan and execute targeted email marketing campaigns to drive customer loyalty and promote local specials and events.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on the performance of digital marketing campaigns using tools like Google Analytics, providing insights and recommendations for optimisation.
  • Collaborate with local store managers and regional marketing teams to align digital initiatives with overall business objectives and promotional calendars.
  • Stay abreast of the latest digital marketing trends, tools, and best practices, especially within the retail and FMCG sectors.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in digital marketing, with a focus on local or regional campaigns.
  • Proficiency in social media management platforms and analytics tools.

  • Excellent content creation and copywriting skills with an eye for detail and brand consistency.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms and campaign management.
