Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive community outreach strategies and engagement plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with community members, local organizations, government bodies, and key stakeholders.
- Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, events, and information sessions to foster active participation.
- Act as a primary point of contact for community inquiries, feedback, and concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Conduct needs assessments and gather qualitative data to identify community priorities and inform program development.
- Promote Career.zycto's mission, vision, and services effectively to diverse audiences through various communication channels.
- Prepare detailed reports on outreach activities, community engagement metrics, and identified trends for internal review.
- Collaborate internally with program teams to ensure community feedback is integrated into service design and service delivery improvements.
- Represent Career.zycto at external events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance visibility and partnerships.
- Identify potential partnerships and funding opportunities that align with community needs and organizational objectives.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in community outreach, engagement, public relations, or a related field.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with diverse stakeholders and community members.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong public speaking and presentation abilities.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the capacity to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with CRM software or database management.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to reliable transportation for local travel within Red Deer and surrounding areas.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, as required for community events and meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Public Relations, Community Development, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with diverse cultural groups and a demonstrated understanding of Indigenous perspectives in Alberta.
- Familiarity with the social services landscape, community resources, and non-profit sector in Red Deer.
- Bilingualism (English and French, or other relevant languages) is considered a valuable asset.
