Job Description

Career.zycto is immediately seeking a proactive Ranch Worker to join our team, managing the day-to-day operations of a distinctive private estate located in the heart of Edgbaston, Birmingham. As a Ranch Worker, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth functioning and pristine condition of the estate. Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for livestock and horses, including feeding, watering, grooming, and monitoring their health and well-being.
- Perform general maintenance and upkeep of ranch facilities, including fencing, stables, barns, and other outbuildings.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment such as tractors, mowers, and utility vehicles, ensuring they are in safe working order.
- Manage and maintain pastures, paddocks, and grounds, including mowing, clearing brush, and ensuring proper drainage.
- Assist with specific animal tasks, which may include assisting with veterinary visits, farrier appointments, and training.
- Undertake minor repairs and construction projects around the estate as needed, utilizing basic carpentry and plumbing skills.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all activities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in animal care, particularly with horses and/or farm animals.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform demanding outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of land management and property maintenance techniques.
- Proficiency in operating hand tools and basic power tools.
- Reliability, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently or as part of a small team.
- Excellent observational skills for monitoring animal health and property condition.
Preferred Qualifications
- Full UK driving license with experience driving utility vehicles and trailers.
- Prior experience operating agricultural machinery (e.g., tractors, mowers).
- Basic first aid certification, especially animal first aid.
- Experience with welding or other specialized maintenance skills.
