As a Booking Agent, you will be the primary point of contact for clients, handling a diverse range of booking requests for travel, events, accommodations, and various services. You will be responsible for understanding client needs, researching optimal solutions, negotiating terms, and meticulously managing reservations from initial inquiry to final confirmation. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming booking requests via phone, email, and online platforms efficiently and accurately.
  • Consult with clients to understand their specific needs and preferences for travel, accommodation, events, and other services.
  • Research, compare, and present suitable booking options, considering budget, availability, and client requirements.
  • Negotiate rates and terms with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to secure the best deals.
  • Process reservations, issue confirmations, and handle all necessary documentation, including itineraries and tickets.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all bookings, client interactions, and payment information.
  • Provide prompt and professional customer support, addressing inquiries, changes, and cancellations with a solution-oriented approach.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, new destinations, and booking technologies to enhance service offerings.
  • Resolve any booking-related issues or discrepancies promptly and effectively, escalating when necessary.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a booking agent, travel consultant, or similar customer service role.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a clear and professional demeanor.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using booking software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and work under pressure.
  • Customer-centric approach with a strong commitment to service excellence.
  • Problem-solving capabilities and the ability to think critically to resolve issues.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with GDS (Global Distribution Systems) such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo.
  • Knowledge of Australian travel regulations and local attractions in the Canberra region.
  • Familiarity with various event management platforms and booking protocols.
  • Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
