Job Description
We are on the lookout for a talented and dedicated Network Engineer to join our thriving team in Surulere, Lagos. As a Network Engineer at Career.zycto, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting complex network infrastructures for our diverse client base. Your day-to-day will involve hands-on work with various networking technologies, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless solutions. You will collaborate closely with other IT professionals, project managers, and clients to understand requirements, propose solutions, and execute deployments. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure network infrastructures (LAN, WAN, WLAN).
- Configure and troubleshoot network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize speed and reliability.
- Manage and maintain network security, including VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls.
- Perform regular network audits, create detailed documentation, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Respond to and resolve network-related incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to gather requirements and deliver effective network solutions.
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical network support as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies and best practices in network engineering.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other core networking protocols.
- Solid experience with Cisco, Mikrotik, Ubiquiti, or similar network hardware.
- Strong understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) and switching technologies (VLANs, STP, EtherChannel).
- Experience with firewall configuration and management (e.g., FortiGate,pfSense, Cisco ASA).
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+.
- Experience with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting).
- Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of VoIP and QoS technologies.
- Experience working in a managed service provider (MSP) environment.
