Key Responsibilities
- Prepare work sites, including setting up forms, rebar, and other necessary materials for concrete pours.
- Mix, pour, spread, and level concrete using a variety of tools and equipment.
- Finish concrete surfaces by troweling, floating, and brushing to achieve specified textures and finishes.
- Operate power screeds, vibrators, and other concrete finishing machinery safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate concrete placement.
- Monitor curing processes and apply appropriate treatments to concrete surfaces.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering strictly to all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with site supervisors, engineers, and other team members.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Concrete Worker or similar construction role.
- Proficiency in mixing, pouring, and finishing concrete.
- Ability to operate various concrete tools and equipment.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform demanding manual labour.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- Full UK driving license.
- Experience with different types of concrete finishes (e.g., exposed aggregate, stamped concrete).
- Knowledge of rebar placement and formwork construction.
- First Aid certification.
