Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on a variety of HVAC systems, including split systems, ducted systems, VRV/VRF systems, chillers, and boilers.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC equipment efficiently and accurately.
- Execute repairs, replacements, and installations of HVAC components, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct thorough system checks, pressure testing, and refrigerant handling in compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Provide detailed reports on work performed, including parts used, time spent, and recommendations for future service or upgrades.
- Maintain accurate service records and effectively communicate with clients regarding service status, findings, and solutions.
- Respond promptly to emergency service calls, often outside of regular business hours, to minimize system downtime.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other trades to ensure seamless project execution.
- Stay updated with new HVAC technologies, techniques, and regulations through continuous learning and professional development.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an HVAC Service Technician
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for a wide range of HVAC systems
- Proficiency in electrical schematics and control wiring
- Valid Refrigerant Handling License (ARC Tick)
- Valid Australian Driver's License
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong commitment to safety practices
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade Certificate III in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration
- Experience with building management systems (BMS)
- First Aid certification
- OHS White Card
- Experience with commercial and industrial HVAC systems
