Key Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, welding specifications, and other technical drawings to determine appropriate welding processes and materials.
- Operate various welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-cored) to fabricate and repair metal structures and components.
- Perform welding procedures on diverse materials, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws and maintain quality standards.
- Grind, cut, and bevel metal prior to welding, and clean and smooth welded surfaces post-welding.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company regulations, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to meet project deadlines and specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of welding machinery.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in operating various hand and power tools common in welding.
- Solid understanding of metallurgy and different metal properties.
