Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints, welding specifications, and other technical drawings to determine appropriate welding processes and materials.
  • Operate various welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-cored) to fabricate and repair metal structures and components.
  • Perform welding procedures on diverse materials, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws and maintain quality standards.
  • Grind, cut, and bevel metal prior to welding, and clean and smooth welded surfaces post-welding.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company regulations, including wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to meet project deadlines and specifications.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of welding machinery.

Required Skills

  • Proven expertise in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in operating various hand and power tools common in welding.
  • Solid understanding of metallurgy and different metal properties.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Strong understanding and adherence to safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity required for prolonged standing, bending, and lifting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification from an accredited welding program or equivalent.
  • Experience with automated welding systems.
  • Knowledge of structural steel fabrication and assembly.
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance on welding equipment.
  • Valid driver's license.
