Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking dedicated and hardworking General Farm Labourers to join our vibrant agricultural clients across the Saskatoon region of Saskatchewan. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about contributing to the backbone of our economy – the agricultural industry. As a General Farm Labourer, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of diverse farming environments, which may include grain, oilseed, pulse, livestock, or mixed farming operations. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and productivity of the farm, ensuring the successful cultivation of crops, the meticulous care of livestock, and the overall maintenance of the farm infrastructure. We are looking for individuals who thrive in a dynamic outdoor setting and are eager to embrace the challenges and rewards of agricultural work.
This role demands a strong work ethic, considerable physical stamina, and a genuine willingness to learn and adapt to various tasks throughout the agricultural calendar. A typical day might involve anything from operating seeding equipment in spring, monitoring crop health and assisting with pest control in summer, participating in the demanding but rewarding harvest operations in fall, to supporting livestock feeding and facility maintenance during the winter months. You will be working outdoors in diverse weather conditions – from the heat of summer sun to the chill of a prairie winter – truly experiencing the natural rhythms and demands of farm life. Safety is paramount on all our client farms; therefore, you will be expected to adhere strictly to all safety protocols, operational guidelines for machinery, and animal welfare standards. This commitment ensures a safe and productive environment for everyone.
This position offers a unique chance to gain invaluable hands-on experience, develop practical skills in farm machinery operation (such as tractors, combines, seeders, and sprayers, depending on your prior experience and the specific farm’s needs), and build a rewarding, sustainable career in a vital industry. Whether you are an experienced farmhand looking for a new challenge or someone eager to learn the ropes and establish a foundation in agriculture, if you possess a positive attitude, proven reliability, a strong sense of responsibility, and a commitment to quality work, we strongly encourage you to apply. We are dedicated to connecting you with reputable farms that value their team members, foster skill development, and provide a supportive, respectful work environment. This is a full-time role, offering consistent employment and the exciting opportunity for long-term growth and specialization within Saskatchewan’s thriving agricultural sector. Join Career.zycto in cultivating not just crops and livestock, but also your future success!
