Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facilities.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues promptly.
- Conduct regular inspections of premises and equipment to identify and resolve potential problems before they escalate.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency maintenance requests and breakdowns.
- Read and accurately interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical/mechanical schematics.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and service histories.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety regulations, and company operational policies.
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, and setup of new equipment and systems.
- Proactively troubleshoot complex problems and implement effective, lasting solutions.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members, departments, and external contractors to ensure operational efficiency.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar hands-on technical role.
- Strong foundational knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Proficiency in using a wide range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to read and accurately interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough understanding of industrial safety procedures and regulations.
- Physical dexterity and strength to perform demanding tasks, including lifting and working in various environments.
- Valid Technical Certificate or Diploma in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plant Mechanics).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering field.
- Demonstrated experience with HVAC systems, refrigeration, and building management controls.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Certification in specific trades such as welding, carpentry, or specialized electrical work.
- Current First Aid and Fire Safety certification.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or large commercial facility environment.
