Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are sterile and readily available.
  • Assist the dentist efficiently during a variety of treatment procedures, including restorative, surgical, and prophylactic care.
  • Take and process high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the supervising dentist.
  • Provide patients with clear and comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative instructions and care, ensuring full understanding.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, and assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
  • Rigorously sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, adhering strictly to all infection control protocols and safety standards.
  • Manage dental supplies inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels, proper storage, and timely reordering.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive dental care, and specific treatment plans.
  • Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring models, trimming study casts, and preparing dental impressions.
  • Ensure patient comfort throughout their visit, addressing concerns, providing reassurance, and maintaining a positive experience.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant for at least 2 years in a clinical setting.
  • Certification or Diploma in Dental Assisting from a recognized and accredited institution.
  • Excellent understanding of dental terminology, instruments, materials, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in taking, developing, and mounting dental radiographs.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control and sterilization techniques, adhering to local health regulations.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
