Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies aligned with partner missions.
  • Develop, write, and submit high-quality, compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, concept papers, and other fundraising materials.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to gather necessary information, data, and stories for proposal development.
  • Manage the grant application pipeline, ensuring all deadlines are met and submission guidelines are strictly followed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all grant activities, including submissions, awards, and reporting requirements.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with funders and grant-making organizations.
  • Prepare detailed grant reports for successful applications, demonstrating accountability and impact.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to craft persuasive narratives.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities to identify relevant funding opportunities and gather supporting data.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all written materials and applications.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and grant management software/CRM.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, English, Public Administration, Non-profit Management).
  • Certification in Grant Professional (GPC) or similar professional development.
  • Experience with international development grants or specific donor agencies.
  • Familiarity with the socio-economic context and development challenges in Zimbabwe or Southern Africa.
  • Proficiency in an additional language relevant to the region, such as Shona or Ndebele.
