Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct client care and supervision in accordance with individualized treatment plans and program policies.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, promoting independence and self-care skills.
- Monitor and document client behavior, progress, and vital signs, reporting observations to the clinical team.
- Facilitate therapeutic activities, group sessions, and recreational outings as directed by licensed staff.
- Intervene in crisis situations using approved de-escalation techniques, ensuring client and staff safety.
- Reinforce positive coping mechanisms and adaptive behaviors taught in therapy sessions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for all clients.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, therapists, psychiatrists, and other team members.
- Ensure strict adherence to client confidentiality and ethical guidelines.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development.
Required Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude.
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation and record-keeping.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques (or willingness to be trained).
- First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related human services field.
- Previous experience (6+ months) working in a behavioral health, mental health, or addiction treatment setting.
- Knowledge of various mental health disorders and co-occurring conditions.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
