Job Description

We are urgently seeking a dedicated and proactive Security Supervisor to join our growing team in Willoughby, Langley. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of security personnel, ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement effective security patrols, access control procedures, and surveillance strategies.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to all security incidents, emergencies, and alarms, coordinating with relevant authorities as needed.
  • Prepare comprehensive incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation with accuracy and detail.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential security risks and recommend preventative measures.
  • Ensure all security equipment is in proper working order and report any malfunctions immediately.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client queries and concerns regarding security operations.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for security staff and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of security best practices, local laws, and company protocols.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of ongoing training programs for the security team.

Required Skills

  • Valid BC Security Worker License
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a security role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Proficiency in incident report writing and documentation
  • Ability to operate security equipment and surveillance systems
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills under pressure
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Criminology, Law Enforcement, or a related field
  • Advanced security certifications (e.g., AST, PSP, CPP)
  • Experience with integrated security management systems (e.g., Genetec, Avigilon)
  • Knowledge of relevant local and provincial security regulations
  • Conflict resolution and de-escalation training
