Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior cybersecurity technicians in monitoring security systems for anomalies and potential threats.
- Participate in the initial response to security incidents, including investigation and documentation under supervision.
- Contribute to vulnerability assessments and penetration testing efforts, learning to identify and report security weaknesses.
- Support the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security hardware and software, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and anti-malware solutions.
- Help maintain comprehensive documentation for security procedures, incidents, and system configurations.
- Conduct research on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices to contribute to proactive defense strategies.
- Assist with user access management and security awareness training initiatives.
- Perform regular security audits and compliance checks to ensure adherence to organizational policies and industry standards.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security patches and updates across various systems and applications.
- Actively engage in professional development, including internal training sessions and pursuing relevant certifications, to continuously enhance cybersecurity knowledge and skills.
Required Skills
- Foundational knowledge of IT concepts, including operating systems (Windows, Linux) and computer hardware.
- Basic understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and security challenges.
