Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all phases of construction projects from planning to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including detailed schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient operations and high-quality workmanship.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, fostering strong communication and collaboration.
  • Manage procurement processes, negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors, and oversee budget expenditures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to design specifications and building codes.
  • Prepare and present regular project reports to senior management, detailing progress, financial status, and any challenges encountered.
  • Resolve any on-site issues or conflicts promptly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager or in a similar leadership role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and decision-making capacity under pressure.
  • Strong financial acumen for budget management and cost control.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations (e.g., CDM Regulations).
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, NEBOSH).
  • Experience with specific project types (e.g., commercial, residential, infrastructure).
  • Membership in a professional body (e.g., CIOB, RICS).
  • First Aid certification.
