Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Site Supervisor, an experienced builder, to lead and manage our construction projects in Kisumu, Kisumu County. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in building construction, with a proven track record of successfully overseeing sites, managing teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This pivotal role requires strong leadership, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and an unwavering commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. As a Site Supervisor, you will be the cornerstone of our on-site operations, coordinating daily activities, monitoring progress, and serving as the primary point of contact for all site-related matters. You will be instrumental in maintaining a productive work environment, fostering clear communication between various stakeholders, and meticulously managing resources to optimize project efficiency. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned builder to take on significant responsibility and contribute directly to the construction of lasting structures that serve our communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities from project start to finish.
  • Develop and implement detailed project schedules, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Supervise, motivate, and coordinate site personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Identify potential construction challenges and proactively implement effective solutions.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to project management.
  • Manage site logistics, material procurement, and equipment utilization.
  • Ensure strict adherence to occupational health and safety standards on site.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate site meetings and maintain comprehensive site documentation and records.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a site supervision or similar role within building construction.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations in Kenya.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in construction project management software (e.g., MS Project).
  • Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., National Construction Authority).
  • Certification in First Aid and Safety Management.
  • Experience with sustainable building practices or green construction.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software for basic review.
