Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for patrons and staff.
- Conduct thorough access control, including checking identification and managing entry/exit points.
- Perform bag searches and frisking where required, adhering to legal guidelines and venue policies.
- Monitor crowd behaviour and proactively identify potential issues or conflicts.
- Professionally de-escalate disputes and manage difficult situations with diplomacy and firmness.
- Respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies, including medical incidents or security breaches.
- Liaise effectively with venue management, emergency services, and other security personnel.
- Complete accurate incident reports and maintain detailed records of shifts.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service, offering assistance and information to patrons when appropriate.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to de-escalate conflict and handle challenging situations calmly.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound judgments.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a professional appearance.
- Understanding of relevant security laws and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Door Supervisor in licensed premises or events.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Knowledge of local licensing laws in Penarth/Cardiff.
- Experience with CCTV monitoring.
- Fluency in Welsh (desirable but not essential).
