Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the hotel premises, including all floors, guest areas, and back-of-house areas, to deter crime and ensure security.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems, responding promptly to any suspicious activities or incidents.
- Respond to emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, and security breaches, initiating appropriate protocols and contacting emergency services when necessary.
- Enforce hotel policies and procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment for guests and staff.
- Provide assistance to guests and staff with security-related concerns, including access control and lost and found inquiries.
- Document all security-related incidents, observations, and actions taken in detailed and accurate reports.
- Control access points to the hotel, verifying authorization for entry during night hours.
- Maintain a visible security presence to reassure guests and deter potential security threats.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
- Undertake any other duties as directed by management that fall within the scope of the role.
Required Skills
- Current NSW Class 1A Security Officer License (Guard/Patrol).
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificates.
- Proven experience in security, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Excellent observational and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for report writing and guest interaction.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
- Physical fitness to perform regular patrols and stand for extended periods.
- Proficiency in monitoring CCTV and alarm systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience specifically in night shift security roles.
- Certificate II or III in Security Operations.
- Advanced First Aid qualifications or Defibrillation certificate.
- Knowledge of relevant local laws and regulations pertaining to security and hospitality.
