Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, vital signs monitoring, and basic assessments, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety.
- Document patient observations, care provided, and responses to treatment accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
- Collaborate effectively with Registered Nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and medication adherence.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment.
- Adhere to all provincial nursing standards, professional guidelines, and facility policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training initiatives to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Respond to emergencies and provide immediate first aid or emergency care as needed.
Required Skills
- Current registration and licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Saskatchewan.
- Proven ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and electronic health record systems.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an LPN in a clinical setting.
- Experience with various patient populations or specialized care areas.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
