Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Corporate Security Officer to join our team in Nome, Alaska. This critical role involves maintaining a safe and secure environment for our personnel, property, and assets, operating within a framework that prioritizes prevention, protection, and rapid response. As a Corporate Security Officer, you will be the frontline defender, responsible for implementing and enforcing security policies, conducting regular patrols, and responding to emergency situations with professionalism and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of premises, both interior and exterior, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, damage, or unauthorized access.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment, and access points; permit entry to authorized personnel.
- Respond to alarms, investigate disturbances, and provide first response to emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, or security breaches.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Write detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and maintain records of security-related occurrences.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as necessary during incidents or investigations.
- Administer access control systems and issue visitor badges, ensuring proper identification and authorization.
- Conduct security briefings and training refreshers for staff on safety and security protocols.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate security, law enforcement, or military security operations.
- Valid State of Alaska Security Officer License (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and security surveillance systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
- Experience with access control software and alarm monitoring platforms.
- Previous experience working in a remote or challenging environmental setting.
