Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to understand project scope, objectives, and stylistic preferences for events and commercial shoots.
- Plan and prepare for shoots, including equipment selection, location scouting, and developing shot lists/storyboards.
- Execute high-quality photography on-site at various events (e.g., corporate functions, conferences, parties, weddings) and commercial settings (e.g., product shoots, lifestyle, architectural).
- Utilize professional-grade camera equipment, lighting, and other accessories to achieve desired visual outcomes.
- Conduct efficient and meticulous post-production, including culling, editing, retouching, and color grading images using industry-standard software.
- Deliver final edited images in specified formats and within agreed-upon deadlines.
- Maintain and care for photography equipment, ensuring it is in excellent working condition.
- Manage time and assignments effectively to accommodate multiple projects and client needs.
- Uphold professional conduct and communication with clients, subjects, and event organizers at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Event and/or Commercial Photographer (portfolio required)
- Proficiency with professional DSLR or mirrorless camera systems and various lenses.
- Expertise in studio and on-location lighting techniques (natural, artificial, flash).
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for image editing and retouching.
- Strong understanding of composition, color theory, and visual storytelling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Experience with videography and video editing (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro).
- Knowledge of drone photography and relevant certifications (if applicable).
- Experience working with a diverse range of clients and industries.
- Familiarity with Kingston's local event venues and commercial spaces.
- Proficiency in other photo editing software or graphic design tools.
