Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload passenger baggage, cargo, and mail onto and from aircraft, ensuring safe and efficient handling.
- Operate specialist ground support equipment (GSE) such as tugs, baggage carts, and passenger steps (following full training).
- Marshall aircraft on and off the stand, guiding pilots with precision and clear signals.
- Perform general aircraft cleaning and cabin preparation to ensure passenger comfort and hygiene standards.
- Conduct security checks on baggage and cargo in accordance with aviation regulations.
- Assist passengers with special needs or mobility challenges, providing compassionate and efficient support.
- Communicate effectively with flight crew, air traffic control, and other ground personnel to coordinate activities.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and security procedures and regulations at all times.
- Report any incidents, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly to supervisors.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve daily operational targets and maintain schedules.
Required Skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict procedures.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) and perform demanding tasks.
- A valid UK driving license (desirable but not essential for all roles).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic IT literacy for operational systems.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
- Commitment to maintaining high safety and security standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an airport or aviation environment.
- Experience in a physically demanding role or outdoor work.
- Valid Airside Driving Permit (ADP).
- First Aid certification.
