Career.zycto is actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Carpenter to join our growing team in Hyson Green, Nottingham. Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join wood materials, laminates, and other substitutes.
- Erect and install various structures and fixtures, including framework, floors, roofs, wall systems, and staircases.
- Install doors, windows, trims, cabinetry, and other finishing elements with precision.
- Inspect and repair structural woodwork, foundations, and other components.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently, ensuring proper maintenance.
- Collaborate effectively with other construction professionals, including builders, electricians, and plumbers.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies on-site.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Carpenter with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in all aspects of carpentry, including framing, roofing, and finishing.
- Excellent knowledge of various carpentry techniques and methods.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and practices.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good physical condition and stamina, capable of performing demanding tasks.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery.
- Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Card.
- Full UK driving license.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience with sustainable building practices or materials.
