Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and check incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies, reporting any issues promptly to the relevant department.
- Accurately record all incoming stock into the inventory management system.
- Organise and store goods in designated locations, ensuring optimal use of warehouse space.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised 'goods in' area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet trucks, counterbalance forklifts if certified) safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with other warehouse team members and departments to ensure smooth workflow.
- Assist with stock counts and inventory reconciliation as required.
- Prepare and stage materials for transfer to other departments or outbound shipments.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, particularly those relating to security and stock control.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a goods in, warehouse, or logistics environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items.
- Good numerical and literacy skills.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or data entry.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Counterbalance and/or Reach Forklift license.
- Previous experience with handheld scanners and WMS (Warehouse Management System).
- First Aid certification (desirable but not essential).
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
